Instructions for use

Attention:
• Manual adapter without autofocus or aperture ring.
• Skillful installation, needn't too much force.

'No Lens Attached' - Warning Message Appears:
• If your camera indicates "lens is not properly installed", please modify the camera settings: 'Menu' -> 'Setup' -> 'Release w/o Lens' -> 'Enable' (Exact naming and location may change depending on camera model). If your lens does not have a manual aperture control ring, it will stop down to its smallest f/stop by default.
• Set camera "release shutter without lens" to enable when using the adapter for the first time, or the camera will fail to recognize the lens and the shutter may not be released.

Infinity focus position:

• The position of the infinity mark [∞] of the telephoto lens is shifted slightly to the positive side to enable focus adjustment even when focus shift is caused due to temperature changes. The shift range is denoted by an L-shaped line, Be sure to check the focus through the viewfinder even when you shoot at infinity.

Note:

• L mount cameras are full-frame mirrorless cameras.
• Adapting APS-frame lens to full-frame camera may generate vignetting, which is not the problem of the adapter. Some cameras could correct it by adjusting to APSC.

Nifty Little Unit but Slightly Confusing

I had recently committed to a Canon R6 and was left with the question of what to do with my beloved Nikon 50mm f/1.4 AIS. As a happy accident it arrived within the hour my R6 had arrived and I put it work. The unit itself mounts securely, and the faces are machined true. Within minutes of mounting I'm achieving focus accuracy that I've never observed out of this lens.
A criticism and a concern. The criticism lays with the operations manual. On the R6 you have to enable the camera to take photos with the lens off as this adapter doesn't electronically interface with the camera. I wish this was written somewhere with the adapter. The concern is the weather sealing or more accurately the lack there of so this may be watch out for. Either way I'm quite pleased with the results of this adapter and I'd buy this again.

Excellent adapter that re-invents vintage mounts for mirrorless cameras

Solidly built, snugly fitting and well-engineered adapter that lets you use classic Contax/Yashica lenses on a Canon R-mount camera. There are no electronic connections, so focus is manual - not a problem for mirrorless cameras with focus peaking and an electronic viewfinder. Use Aperture Priority mode and the camera automatically adjusts Shutter Speed and/or ISO for a proper exposure. I previously used first-generation focus-chip adapters with a DSLR. They worked, but only with a lot of finicky calibration (so you needed one adapter for each lens), and were very fidgety to mount. This new adapter for mirrorless cameras is a major improvement: It's purely mechanical (no electronic connection), but K&F nicely re-invented the mounting mechanics on this adapter (same for K&F's Nikon version) with a button you hold down to quickly twist lenses in and out. It's like having the mirrorless Contax camera that never existed! So much easier on lenses and on your patience. Great piece of kit that smoothly integrates vintage lenses into the latest generation of cameras. Couldn't be happier!

FAQs

(1) Does this NIK to EOS R adapter work for DX lenses? (2) When using Nikon F mount lenses the fit is VERY tight, is this normal? It feels like i'm grinding metal when I'm mounting the adapter to the lens but no visible damage on the ring face.
