I have been charging the camera for over 24 hours via USB from the socket. But the battery does not come out of the red zone. What could be the reason for this.

The connection of the camera is deep in the housing. When plugging it in, make sure that the contacts slide into each other noticeably. If you call up the camera while it is charging, a white arrow appears on the battery symbol at the top left of the camera to indicate that the battery is charging.
