Completely wire free, perfect for DIY
The solar panels is made of the latest type of panels, more efficient than the glass and crystalline type and works better in British weather. So far in Summer it is keeping the camera going nicely, my other rechargeable wireless camera needed recharge every 3-4 weeks instead. For places where there is no power e.g. outside wall or middle of the garden this camera is ideal, you don't need to have foot long drill bit and heavy drill to make holes in your outer wall, no need to pull cable from inside of the house to the outside etc.I strongly recommend mounting the camera under a eve or in shaded area away from direct rain for 2 reasons. 1. nothing is completely waterproof, this has rubber grommet to prevent water getting into the USB port and SD card slot which is not 100% effective. 2. when rained on and water droplets built up in front of the lens it will render your footage useless. The phone app is easy to use, you can access the camera from anywhere in the world as long as both your phone and the camera have internet access. I prefer to have video stored locally so an SD card is a must (not included). I find the motion detection a bit hit and miss, human detection works 7/10 times but I get false activation when there is direct sunlight on to the camera lens. I have to relocate it to a shaded area to make the best use out of the camera, the pan and tilt is useful as it allows it to cover more areas when needed.Video quality is on par with other similar price CCTV on the market, looks brilliant on the phone but when downloaded and watch on PC it lost all quality and lost a lot of quality.
