Great value out of a budget friendly lens.
I have no regrets on having purchased this lens. I'm an amateur, so having a faster lens for the occasional portrait photo makes it worth it. It is very lightweight, but seems well built. I feel like the auto focus sometimes misses though. I'm sure there are sharper lenses, but I couldn't justify the marginal amount of sharpness for double the price. I can see this being good for macro photography or being a decent portrait lens. You do have to be pretty far away from subject if you're on a crop sensor camera if you want to get the entire subject in frame (I probably should have got a 35mm). I'm using it on my nikon D5300. Took some pics around the house and added a headshot. All are processed. I replaced and blurred the background in the headshot, but this lens can give a nice bokeh in-camera without having to do any extra post processing.
