Good filter to protect the lens against dust, scratches and fingerprints
This UV filter came in a nice round case. The filter was very clean out of the box. I got this filter to protect the lens front element when shooting outdoors. Lens cap fits easily over the filter.
When shooting indoors, I do not use a filter. I use it outdoors depending on the location and/or environment and only on lenses that do not come with a hood. It is a piece of extra glass that we put over the lens and I am sure it has some minor imperfections. You may notice some differences if you happen to be a pixel peeper.
This filter is good, I did not notice any degradation in image quality on pictures shot outdoors. Even though I do not use it indoors, I just wanted to test to see how it performs. On all the portraits I shot with this filter, I did notice some loss of contrast.
