Amazing for the price - slight yellowing, vignette and barely noticeable loss of sharpness
got mine yesterday and said I would test performance with and without this filter. I have a vintage Minolta lens that was from my grandfather so it is very valuable to me and I wanted to avoid damaging it. As the title suggests, there is slight yellowing, vignettes, and a barely noticeable loss of sharpness that I can detect when viewing it on my computer screen, although the compressed images I've added may not fully show. Resolution of the original images. Let's break down what I found: The Yellowing - This filter has a slight yellow tint which makes sense, it's a UV filter so the shorter wavelength light might have trouble getting through. This isn't a problem for me as it can easily be adjusted and fixed in software after adding a little more blue, or this might get you better results in the field depending on your conditions The vignette - This is very easy though noticeable when looking at the same image with the filter on and off, again this is not a problem for me as it can be fixed or tweaked in software so that it is indistinguishable The sharpness loss - the sharpness loss is even at 400% barely noticeable, which is great. After that, if you just add 1 percent more sharpness, that's no problem for me. You have to view the photo at 200% resolution or higher to notice a loss, and even if you do see that, you have to look carefully. For what I paid for this filter, I'm happy to know that it doesn't affect my image in any way and that it acts as a shield, protecting my glass from scratches and dust. I will be adding more of these for my lenses and will not be forced to remove the filter to take a photo like I would with others. Great product, highly recommend!
