Very good camera with small animal problems
have my second camera here now which I enjoy testing and have plenty of opportunities here to do just that, with late night visitors always stopping by the compost to see if there is anything yummy in there again and people liking around to see what they come to visit. The camera comes with the standard, buckle, batteries, a manual, USB cable, SD card and a tripod mount. Actually everything you need. Let's start with the manual, which is finally well structured and not written in completely broken German. The guide inside is also well done and shows what you can look at and adjust on the camera and also gives a few examples on how to understand them. The camera itself is solidly built. We've sealed two solid brackets holding the whole thing together with a rubber ring around the case to keep water out. The battery compartment and the manual control that you need at the beginning is then located under a cover. Since the instructions here are really well done, I can also understand the menu navigation in the camera, and it's really much easier than with others, someone here gave it some thought. It is interesting that all these settings can also be made via mobile phone. The instructions contain a QR code for a self-installable app with which you can set up the camera via WLAN if the setting is activated. There is also a local access point that you can connect to and then use to see the image and also make settings. This helps enormously when taking photos, since you don't have to guess whether the camera is positioned correctly or not. The battery consumption of the camera is not bad, it is really limited. My other one runs out of 8 batteries in 24 hours, that's bad. Here I was able to continue after 4 days. This is a huge improvement over other cameras and saves a lot of work and battery drain. Of course, you can also operate the whole thing with rechargeable batteries and thus have even less battery waste. The camera picture is good! You can easily see what kind of animals and, most importantly, what markings these animals have that can be used to find returning guests. That's enough and doesn't have to have anything more, 1080p at night is excellent. The range of the IR LEDs is also wide enough here that you can really see a lot, I have to say that there is a lot of power behind it. The only thing where the camera has weakened, which is a bit unfortunate, is motion detection. Small animals that spend less time in front of the camera do not trigger the camera or the camera triggers too slowly. No problem with large animals, but it's a problem with smaller ones, at least I've noticed that it doesn't always work with small animals. It should be at least marten-sized. Nevertheless, a really good game camera, with which it gets 5 stars. Very easy to use, clear pictures and videos even at night, the battery consumption is super regulated here, and the Wifi AP is a really big help. Someone really thought about it and implemented a lot of QoL, I think it's great.
