You get what you pay for. It is functional but made from cheap materials and is weak. I wouldn't risk putting a very expensive camera on this thing... The head may not be a liquid head, but it's surprisingly easy to get smooth cocks while filming. You just have to adjust the tension to get the resistance you need to keep the movement smooth. If you have a relatively cheap camera and don't have the budget for a better tripod, I would definitely recommend this one. It gets the job done in a pinch, but don't expect a sturdy, high-quality product
