good for checking roof gutters
I used this to check the condition of my gutters in the front of the house. It worked perfectly. It was very easy to connect the remote to my android cell phone. The screw holds my phone very securely, so no worries of dropping my phone. The telescoping rod is pretty tight to pull out, and it stays extended during use even without locks. It all folds down into a fairly compact bundle.
I extended it all the way out (7 levels) and aimed my phone downwards to take pictures of the gutters. The rod is pretty light, so it wasn't too heavy to use. The pictures came out really good and showed that my gutters were full of pine needles!
The tripod also works well and is stable on a flat surface. Though I'm not sure how well it would do on a windy day outdoors. It's a very lightweight rod, so it might blow over in a moderate wind.
