5Stars with caviats
I want to be clear about my 5-star rating because I think it's worth 5 stars for use in certain circumstances.I have a pair of Vortex Vanquish binos which these binoculars are very similar in size. The vortex were at least 3x more expensive. Are will made and armored completely waterproof and fog proof. Essentially extremely rugged and great performance for a small affordable porro prism binos. I just received these Occer Binos today and it was immediately obvious that they are made of lesser quality materials, the fit and finish of the parts are meh, and they just feel cheap with adjustments that are not smooth like a high-end set of binoculars. That being said they are quite serviceable. While not smooth, all the functions work, and best of all the magnification and clarity is surprisingly good for this budget unit. I tested today on a rainy humid day and no fogging and clarity during an overcast drizzle with low light was shockingly good even with the small 25mm objective lenses. If you are looking for an everyday use, rugged, all-weather, precision instrument...this is not that...not at all! But if you are looking for quality optic performance in a budget unit for occasional use, then this is a great deal. These would not stand up to the punishment of everyday use and repeated use or repeated exposure to damp or wet environments. But if you want something small to take on a weekend vacation or to use at the occasional concert or sports event, these are surprisingly good for the price.
