Professional quality stuff
Until now all my audio was post-production voice-over. This was my first purchase of professional-level equipment intended for live recording. I used it to record a presentation given at a tradeshow, I was about 40 feet from the speaker's podium. The presentation area was open to the tradeshow floor creating a great deal of background noise. Although there was still just the slightest bit of the background noise picked-up in the recording, the speaker was still perfectly clear. I used the lavalier mike and foam screen that came with the unit. The mike built-in to the camera would have never worked in this situation. The connectors fasten securely with both a click when plugged-in and then a threaded end. The storage case it came in was well made and was a nice surprise as (I believe) it is not shown or mentioned in the product description. The manual was actually useful and easy to read. It did not have the tell tail signs of having been translated from another language to English. I really cannot find anything about this product that warrants a complaint. What puzzled me at first is that the transmitter and receiver appear identical. There are no labels on either differentiating them as such. Both have belt clips and 1/4-20 female mounts. The buttons and informational windows are laid-out the same. You have to look closely to see the icons on the jacks to determine which is which. These things are not deal breakers or really not even criticisms. I can only guess they use the same shell and configuration to keep manufacturing costs down.
