I am a photographer and I love adding accessories to my kit. One piece of the ‘kit’ that has been elusive to me is functional, easy-to-use lens filters. I have a great set of variable ND filters, but the one thing I keep struggling with is getting them lined up exactly right in order to screw them into the lens. K&F Concept, a surprising, budget-friendly accessory manufacturer has a really cool set of magnetic lens filters. The set comes with a soft-sided, waterproof carrying case, adapter ring, MCUV filter, CPL filter, and ND1000 filter. The idea behind this set is that you screw on one adapter, leave it on the lens, and then pop the filters on and off as you need them. You don't waste any time while shooting trying to get the filters lined up just right. I think this is a great filter system. The filters are well-made and high-quality.

They come on and off very easily and are very comfortable to use. A small drawback: the outer diameter is a bit large and rubs when removing the lens hood, so you have to be careful not to drop the filter.

There are reviews that already comment on how well they work, so I will not repeat them, simply say that it is a pleasure to take them off and put them on and they are of great quality. The ease of moving the CPL with the ND mounted or not is great. Totally recommended. The only thing is that it would be appreciated to have ND filters with a different graduation, an 8 and a 64 for example, and also one for light pollution on request.

The filters are great and can be changed quickly. Unfortunately, you cannot screw a graduated filter, even from K&F square and made of glass, onto the ring. The thread becomes larger. This means that you cannot connect the graduated filter with a polarizing filter. That is too bad

In addition to the square filters, I also bought the inexpensive magnetic filter holder set. All I can say is: great. However, I don't have the option of purchasing ND 8 and ND 64 (magnetic) because only ND 1000 and polarizing filters are available. A second glass-filled filter holder is included, which can be stored permanently with an adapter ring for a second lens size and still! fits into the super handy case. For now, this inexpensive set with a magnetic holder is enough for me; If I have further requirements, I will probably switch to the "large" filter holder system from another manufacturer (approx. 400 euros with three ND filters). Which photographer doesn't know this "want to have?" In short: Riko Best's post on YT convinced me. Would I recommend it? Yes, anyone who wants to work with a gray filter every now and then. LG

I really like the concept of this set of filters. I’m not the most coordinated person, and switching filters in the field requires some coordination, so I have just been using a single filter - and it shows in my photos. I really like that this set really requires very little coordination. I’ve been able to quickly and easily switch filters as the lighting changes. The set comes in a nice padded fabric case with individual pockets and a Velcro strap to attach to a belt. The set includes three magnetic filters and an adapter ring. The lightest filter is a UV filter that looks completely clear. Like the adapter ring, this filter is threaded. It is the only filter that is threaded, and is also the only filter that seems a bit loose when on the adapter. The other filters fit much better, but they fit just as well on the UV filter, so I’ve chosen to skip the adapter ring and just thread the UV filter to my lens and attach the other filters to this one. It obviously means an added layer of glass when setup this way though.Anyway, I like this set and would recommend it.
Very convenient, but MCUV filter fits loosely. Very convenient, but MCUV filter fits loosely. Very convenient, but MCUV filter fits loosely. Very convenient, but MCUV filter fits loosely. I shoot in various elements and destinations where lighting is different and filters are needed for optimal results. I have been using the traditional screw on filters but I find it time consuming especially how it needs to be aligned perfectly on your lens, taking up to a few minutes for each one when I could miss the opportunity of my shot. I find this K&F filter set to be a great choice for me. I am no professional by any means and take photos for fun with my Nikon d850 and these filters have worked great for me. The magnetic adapter ring is easy to screw on the lens and the lenses stick to it well. These lenses work great in the rain and are not only waterproof but the water beads off of them. I have not had any issue of fogging between the lens and filter. The come packaged nice in a hard case, each in its own slot. I find this to be a great value for all of the different lenses offered in this set and I am extremely happy with them.

I own quite a few K&F Concept Products. They provide quality products without the hefty price tag we're used to see in the photography world.Let's talk about the filters individually first. All 3 filters are of top quality, at least on this price point/tier, as we're used to get from K&F Concept products:-The CPL Filter has no color shifting and performs as expected.-Same with the ND1000, although i don't use 10-stop filters that often (my most used filter is a VND Nano from K&F Concept) during my test it worked well, no cross present, even while using step-up rings.-The UV Filter has no color shifting and the main purpose these days of the UV filter is to protect the lens surface, BUT, It is where this VERY MINOR issue this kit has: The magnetic ring holder. The magnetic ring holder works great with the ND and the CPL, just not as good with the UV Filter, but it is not by ANY MEANS bad or i'd call it unsecure, at least not on the 82mm filter size version, your mileage may vary depending on the kit size you got as the magnetic surface may be different for your version, just the grip doesn't feel as tight as it does with the other two filters and there is a TINY bit of play, but not enough to warrant losing a star over it, i mean if you shake the camera at full strength you may drop it, but on regular usage i do not see it just falling off the ring holder. As the sum of all parts i'd say this was almost perfect. This kit complements my VND ND2-400 and includes everything i need to cover all my filters along my step-up rings. The UV filter thing doesn't make it lose a star, but maybe half, so i'd say 4.5 but since there's no option for that if i had to decided between 4 or 5 stars, i'll go with 5.

I really like the convenience of this magnetic filter system. You only need to thread on the base ring and magnets do the rest. Makes it less likely to damage the threads of your lens if you don't have to keep putting on and removing a filter on every time you need to use it. I am using this with a 24-105mm full-frame lens and the base ring works with the lens cap and the hood although you probably need to remove the hood to snap on the filter because otherwise your fingers get in the way. Each of the filters themselves are quite a bit heavier than the screw on K&F versions, probably because they need to make the filter ring out of a magnetic steel instead of aluminum. Whatever the reason, they feel a lot more premium than the regular K&F version. In terms of performance, its a bit of a mixed bag. I don't have tremendous experience using CPL and ND filters (this is my first set) so I don't know what's considered good performance at a given price range. Lets start with the ND: It seems to be close to if not a full 10-stops which is great; the previous K&F screw-on 10-stop ND which I returned clocked in at only around 8-stops in practice. The ND does have a noticeable color cast (see: photos of the sea right out of camera). Bringing the raw files into Lightroom, the ND image had 26 more points of magenta tint and was 1000K warmer than the no-filter image. This cast was reasonably easy to correct although the colors weren't exactly the same. Less correctible was the vignette at 24mm which needs to be cropped out. At least on my lens, a quick crop test indicated at I was loosing about 1 mm of focal length to the vignette. Note that since the filter is magnetic, there is a small amount of float between the filter and the lens so the vignette may not always be symmetric or consistent from one use to the next.Moving on, the CPL filter (photos looking out the window) has similar vignette to the ND filter at 24mm but appears to cut down quite a bit of reflections in my windows. Not much for me to point our here, it seems to do the job.The set does come with a UV filter but I do not intend to use it unless I am in a rainy/dusty environment where my lens needs a bit more protection so I haven't tested it out yet.For both the ND and the CPL filter, I did not detect any noticeable decrease in sharpness caused by using the filters. However due to the color cast with the ND filter, I suggest either shooting in RAW or setting your white balance before putting the filter on.For the price ($110) I think the performance of these filters is acceptable. I am a little disappointed with the vignette but I have heard of much more expensive filters having similar issues so I don't want to be too hard on this set. All in all, for someone like me who does this for fun, I think its a great system to learn the basics until I can justify the move to something more premium. If you're a professional and make money off your photos, then maybe look at something more upmarket like Freewell or invest the time creating a preset to fix the color cast.
