Before proceeding, let's be clear and set expectations: At under £30 we're talking budget telescope/monoculars here...So it arrives and and seems reasonably well made, with a protective bag.In terms of optics, they're actually pretty reasonable in daytime and 12x50 is pretty decent. Now I don't know why they claimed "night vision", because it clearly doesn't have any, and the optics for star gazing are definitely nothing special. The included tripod and smart phone adaptor, are a nice gesture, but the quality of them is poor in my opinion and they'd been better off reducing the price by and couple of pounds and not including them! It's let down a little by the misleading nightvision claim and cheap accessories. However it's still a decent enough monocular for the money that I'd give it my recommendation.

Now I can enjoy not only my backyard feathered friends but it's perfect to take hiking and other outdoor activities allowing me to enjoy beautiful nature at it's best. This monocular has great optics, despite having a low price tag. Would make very good gift, great price.

For a low cost compact monocular this is good value. It comes with phone attachment (for viewing/taking photos on your phone), mini tripod, carry pouch and hand strap as extra accessories. The monocular feels comfortable in the hand, with a smooth focus wheel and twist out eye cup and has a rubber coating for all round protection against knocks. The magnification is 12x (eyepiece) with a 50mm objective lens to give a reasonably bright image. The phone attachment is a handy extra, but most phones will have a decent zoom and lens quality to match, or exceed, the one here.Looking through the monocular reveals a good image, free from edge blur and fringing which is often found on lower cost binoculars/monoculars. The image here is clear from centre to edge. For a low cost optic, this is a great value monocular.

This has powerful magnification, very crisp and clean and I love how easily you can adjust the distance and focus.

The night vision claim is very misleading. There is no function of this monocular which would give it night vision ability. If you are using it to look up a brightly lit street, then sure, night vision is great. The included tripod and phone holder is insufficient and would be better to remove them and lower the price. The monocular is otherwise a really well made piece of kit. It is easy to hold and use. It comes with protective caps and a drawstring bag to protect it from dust and moisture. Focus and zoom are easy to access and it looks like a premium model. It's just let down by the claims and the unnecessary extras which are not well considered. If this was helpful, let me know.

I found myself varying my rating from 1 star through to 5 stars for this item and eventually settled on 4 stars. So what's the issue?Firstly in the box you receive:+. The telescope itself. Reasonable quality item at the price point of £29.99 (7th June 2021). At this price, no-one should expect fantastic optics but from my perspective, I was sufficiently pleased with what I could view and the levels of magnification. you can adjust the telescope for those wearing glasses and to focus on different distance objects - overall, not a bad telescope.+. A tripod which isn't really any good or of value.+. A mobile phone adapter+. auxiliary items - lens caps front and rear, a soft storage/carry bag, carry handle and a lens cleaning cloth. So what happened to that 5th star? Firstly, the supplied instructions are poor and there is no indication of how to attach a mobile telephone to the telescope. It would seem simple enough, but it wasn't and it was only through trial and error that I was able to work it out. It was at that point that I realised that the supplied tripod was not of any use at all, as not even my compact iPhone SE (2020) was small enough to fit on the telescope and align the lens of my phone with the viewfinder of the telescope, as the legs of the supplied tripod were too short. A minor point? Possibly, but there is no way that you will be able to take photographs at this magnification without a tripod: the supplied tripod is totally useless as the legs are too short even for a compact phone like the iPhone SE.Handheld, the telescope is fine for viewing distant objects and is compact enough to keep in a pocket and light enough too. Just don't expect too much.I note form the description that this item has night vision!! I am not sure where they got that from. With normal optics, it is impossible to offer night vision in any form, other than from increasing the amount of light which enters at the front of the telescope and even then it will make little impact. It is absolute nonsense that this item offers night vision and it is misleading.I have attached a couple of images to demonstrate how this item performs with an iPhone SE - images taken from 25 metres. They aren't great shots, but it will give you an idea! Neither the iPhone or this telescope are ideally matched, but you can get an image of sorts.

I was really looking forward to getting this monocular as it quite clearly states the two things I wanted: night vision, and smartphone adaptor. The “instructions”, take the form of a small piece of paper with barely anything useful printed on it.The 'scope itself is light, easily held in one hand, and easy to focus using the knurled wheel on the top, but I'm puzzled by the markings on the end of this: 211FT * 1000YDS. What does this mean? Is this the distance range? Why is one if feet and one in yards? It's not particularly well made, the covers on the lenses are sloppy and easily come adrift. The rubber ring which holds the large one in place is too big and quite stretchy, and although the smaller cap – the one for the eye piece, has a loop, presumably for attaching it to the 'scope, there is nothing to attach it to.What disappoints me most , though, is that this does not have night vision. I've had one or two family members test this to see if I've been going wrong somewhere, but no, definitely no night vision. Interestingly, the list which indicates what this can be sued for includes no night time activities, such as star gazing, which is what I wanted it for.The second disappointment is the plastic screw which should enable to smartphone connection is so badly deformed, it is rendered totally useless. There are no instructions for attaching this to the device, so – assuming you get one with a working screw, you'll just have to follow your nose.In conclusion this monocular can be used in the daytime without a smartphone and therefore provides only 50% of its claims, and as such is too expensive.
Bit of a challenge and don't expect too much, particularly night vision Bit of a challenge and don't expect too much, particularly night vision

These are really good to take on trips out, I used them on a picnic at the local stately mansion and they were really fun, optically they are good for the price and my phone fits well, 12x magnification is enough to capture stuff you would need to be much closer too, with phones now you can digitally zoom but it's no match for proper optical magnification you get with scopes like this, it comes with a dust cover and cloth for cleaning and it's a compact scope that can be taken pretty much anywhere, all in all, a really good compact scope that works well.

This is an excellent small , neat , quality made handy size monocular telescope with good night vision , rated at 12x50 magnification and comes with tripod and smart phone adapter . I like the handy size and that you can use it one handed and the rubber coating gives a good grip . I use it for bird watching , sports and looking at the boats out at sea but can think of many other uses for it . I have it set up at home on the tripod to watch the mountains from my back garden , comes with 1x ( 12x50 ) monocular telescope , 1x smart phone holder , 1x tripod , 1x cleaning cloth , 1x cloth strap , 1x hand strap and a manual . This telescope ranks high amongst the best in my opinion and it is quality at a fair price .
