I have several Netatmo Presence cameras attached to the house and garden, but wanted a camera looking AT the house from a point where there’s no mains power. It had to be battery or solar-powered. This solar camera seemed like a good idea, and so far, after just a couple of days, I’m pleased.The trouble with reviewing a solar product in June, when the days are at their longest and the sun at its strongest, is that I’ve no idea how well it will perform in December. I’ll have to assume, for my review, that it’ll pick up sufficient sun to keep it going 24x7. The solar panel comes with a 3 metre cable, so offers plenty of choice when it comes to location of the camera. It won’t work everywhere, however, e.g. in winter on the front wall of my north-facing house.Image quality isn’t up to Netatmo standards, and nor is the app. But they’re acceptable for most purposes, and it’s half the price or less (£59.99 right now, on Prime Day, but normally £110 after £20 voucher).It’s rich, functionally, with benefits over Netatmo Presence. It has pan & tilt capability, for a start. And it offers two-way audio instead of just one-way, although that’s only of real value if the camera’s close to your front door (and I wouldn’t agree with their “high-fidelity”). One thing it doesn’t offer, however, is a floodlight.Like the Presence, it includes on-board SD-card recording. With this one, however, you have to supply your own card – I recommend investing in a high endurance card, as supplied with Presence. The contacts should be smeared with a grease such as Super Lube Synthetic Grease with Syncolon (PTFE). As well as or instead of SD, you can record to their subscription cloud service – I haven’t checked the price. Presence lets you save recordings to Dropbox or any FTP service including your own NAS drive. If you want Amazon Echo or Google Home support (e.g. "Alexa, show me the garage"), I don't think you get it with this camera.They say the camera can distinguish between people and objects, which is good, although I suspect it’s the app that’s doing the distinguishing. Presence can distinguish between people, cars and animals, and set separate actions for each (notify, record, floodlight, nothing) which I find very useful I even get thumbnail images with alerts on my Apple Watch.Build quality appears good, and the wi-fi seems stable and reliable. I wish I could say how long it will survive British weather. My experience of inexpensive solar lights says 2-3 years before the panel fails, but this one may be better-sealed. And I wish I knew whether it would work 24x7 in the middle of winter. I'd say it's a four-star camera. For now, though, given the low price, I’m going to award a tentative five stars.

I didn't know how well the solar charging would work, but it seems to be doing OK so far. It fitted to a shed in a corner of the garden that doesn't get much direct sunlight so I've put the solar panel round the corner to face south. In that position it's been running perfectly fine for about 3 weeks now. We had a run of bright sunny days but also some cloudy and rainy days, and it's still going strong.The app works well and getting it connected to WiFi was easy. Image quality looks pretty good and night vision, while not as clear as during the day, is still good and plenty to see if someone's snooping around in your garden.

Works great with the app, excellent audio and picture quality. Moves very well manually.

Love this camera,Its very easy to set up and control from the app - took less than 5 minutes start to finish.The solar panel is an excellent way for continuous use without the need for connecting to recharge.Picture quality is good and responsiveness is good to the app.My only main issue is that where I want to place it the signal from my wifi is rated as poor by the app and i can tell as the lag in control and playback is noticable but that's the fault of my wifi not the camera.Because of this I can't rate the night vision yet and the picture tests have been limited while i decide what to do

Really easy to set up with both the instruction booklet and the app (which gives verbal instructions also) being clear. Was also really quick. Download the app, split my wifi signal so the 5ghz was out the way and then told the app to add device. You then get a QR code on your phone screen to show the camera and it adds itself quickly.I’ve got it perched on a bench just now whilst I try extend my shockingly bad Virgin wifi enough to install it where I’d like (this is all to do with my rubbish Virgin 3 hub not giving signal to pretty much anything out with the same room as it

Security minus the cables. I have to say this is a gem of a camera, if you’re happy with HD and want something that will stand alone, that you can set up and forget about charging or wiring then this is the camera for you, the performance outshone what I was expecting and other cameras of the same spec. Great wide angle with a pan and tilt function from your phone makes it versatile enough to cover any angle, the sound and the image are very impressive for HD and the alerts to the phone were very prompt the second it detected motion. The app is very easy to follow and the manual is one of the most comprehensive I’ve ever had for a security camera product. I fully recommend.

This is great that I do not need to have this hard wired in , I can control the camera tilt on my phone APP and it can distinguish between people and objects to reduce the possibility of too many false alarms . When motion is detected a motion alert will be sent to my phone , I can ask the delivery man if we are away to leave my parcels in a safe secure place . This is 100% wire-free and the camera is IP65 waterproof , very good night/day vision and live video . Hopefully the solar panel will provide all the power I need , the camera can be charged using USB cable if needed , the WiFi connection must be 2-4GHz and the camera up to now is good and I will update soon . Good value for money camera unit .

Was alittle sceptical about this solar panel powerd camera!!But I needed haven't too, as it works absolutely perfect, it's not when out once in the few days I have had it.Had quite a cloudy day the other day and it still managed to get through the hole night with no issues what so ever.Was easy to set up, the WiFi range is fantastic, I have the device at the end of the garden, my WiFi signal isn't the best in the world, yet the device managed to get a signal, and says 75% signal, not bad at all.Very easy to pair with the app and set up, plenty of settings from taking a picture, motion capture all the usual, night vision works flawlessly, my garden is very dark at night yet is able to pick up everything, would have been nice to see 4k support, but the 1080p is fine, picture is clear. It's obky when you zoom in, it becomes blurry but that's just the way itis.Being able to control the camera from the app is absolutely fantastic, I can pan around my full garden, with no delays at all.Overall, I think this camera is absolutely amazing! Never needed to drill into walls, have wires all over the place, it's so compact & very easy to set up. I think it's worth the money.Would recommend

I bought these wanting to be able to monitor activity at a remote location. They were easy to install and have been working great. I get notifications of any activity in their field of view. Picture quality is good and the SD card seems to hold plenty of activity clips.

Just got this and so far so good. Picture is good sound is ok was easy to setup and configure does what it's supposed to. No complaints so far.a good product for the price
