I've been interested in what kind of wildlife traffic I get through my backyard during the night and thought some game cameras would help solve that mystery. After buying a couple memory cards (32GB max size for these cameras) and a few nights of letting them sit I can say that I have a fox and quite a few deer! The instructions were pretty simple, and setup of the cameras was easy. I strongly advise setting the time if you want to get a valid timestamp for when the pictures of wildlife are taken. I liked the feature where you could format the memory card in the game camera itself. The night vision isn't infinite, but I got a good 20 feet or so out of pictures it took, which should be enough. The camera's blend in well, so if you're worried about them being stolen, it shouldn't be that hard to disguise them.

We have 2 other of these trail cameras and they all cost roughly the same. Although it has been a year since our last purchase we feel that this camera is quite a lot better than the others - here's why.The actual video quality is crisper and brighter and as we generally use these at nighttime, where our foxes and hedgehogs come into the garden every night, it is important to us to get the best quality videos we can. The actual photos are very good too, far better than our other two cameras. The menu system is easy to understand and set up. So far so good - however there are a couple of niggles:Firstly as the quality is superior to our older ones, the batteries don't last very long. We use good quality re-chargable ones 8 x AAs and they tend to last one or possibly two nights before they need charging again. They say batteries can last for months, but unless you are only taking photos, and you are like us and love to video your wildlife, our rechargeable ones only last two nights with this camera tops. If you use say Duracell you get several days worth, but then the batteries are finished with. Much better to use rechargeable ones - make sure they are good quality and hold a high charge. Fiddly but so very worth it in the long run. What I really do like is the information on the recordings. Time, date, length of video and temperature, although don't expect the temperature to be correct. For instance last night (very cold) one video showed 23 degC and the next, 10 seconds later showed 7 degC. But that's just a niggle, nothing more.As it records sound too, this is ideal for scuffles and mating time as some of the noises, especially from the foxes are amazing.Although the camera is showerproof, I have made small stands that keep the bulk of the rain off, so this makes sure no rain gets on to the lens, thus spoiling the videos. An important issue is the SD card capacity. On the ad it says up to 64gb but on the instructions it says 32gb - which is what I have gone for. As we check the recordings every morning, a 32gb card is ideal - a lot cheaper too.So there you have it. A trail camera that does a fine job, is sensitive enough to pick up mice as well as hedgehogs and gives a finished product that you will be happy with. Even if the nighttime videos and photos are in black and white, in the daytime you have full colour by the way, the quality is more than good enough. Recommended.

The camera works although the instructions aren’t particularly helpful. I haven’t managed to get the camera to replay picture or videos in its own right, I’ve had to remove the SD card and plug it into my laptop. This is somewhat inconvenient as I’m trying to capture our hedgehogs so the camera is close to the ground. I think it’s a bit of a design flaw to have the SD card exiting at the bottom of the camera.I haven’t managed to get the camera to record videos, it’s all a bit confusing, but it has taken still pictures. The initial pictures were all of me setting up the camera - surely I should be able to set it up and then switch it on? Probably my bad, I do need to re-read the instructions and try and make sense of them. The rest of the still pictures have been taken in both daylight and in complete dark. The daylight pictures are plenty good enough for purpose, good colour, nice and crisp. The night time pictures are in black and white and a bit washed out, but again plenty good enough to identify the garden visitors - just my dog doing what dogs do in the garden before bed time at the moment, but I live in hope. The night pictures are taken using night vision infrared light so you can’t actually see it and therefore it doesn’t startle the wildlife. The camera operation is almost completely silent so again no startling and deterring the wildlife.I’d be so much more comfortable recommending this camera if the instructions were better, and if I could figure out where I’ve gone wrong with the video. But I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt and figure that it’s user error. If you want to capture pictures of the wildlife in your garden, or indeed anywhere else, this camera works. You could also use it for security purposes, but you’d have to either hide it well or adapt the bracket to fix into a wall or be out of reach.

Having set up the camera in our barn the day/night pictures are amazing. Apart from the rat which has a liking for our chicken feed the images are clear. I like the simplicity to set it up and use. Haven’t had it long enough to comment on battery life or longevity. Overall I’m impressed with the product and look forward to setting it up in other areas of our farm and seeing what goes on behind the scenes. I would recommend this camera for it simplicity, robust build quality and clarity of images.
