Enough has already been written by professionals about the Yongnuo, so here are my impressions in brief. The loud autofocus drive that is often mentioned is certainly something different than the usm drives of the high-priced competition, but absolutely tolerable for occasional portraits. Especially since he does his job properly. The optical performance is important and, as already mentioned, it is more than okay for this price. So if you think about the demands you have on a lens, how often and how professionally it should be used and realistically assess your personal demands, you will certainly be happy with this lens.

I've wanted to try a fixed focal length for a long time and due to the absolutely low price, I decided to test this lens. The first mission through the city in the evening and then on Christmas Eve was very successful. It takes practice to photograph with fixed focal lengths, but my first experiences can be seen and you can't say anything bad about the lens so far. The processing is good and the picture quality for me as a hobby photographer who takes few pictures is good. Certainly not the same with a €400 lens. For beginners/intermediates I can recommend this for the money with a clear conscience. In my opinion, you can't go wrong with this.

After ordering the 35mm lens from YONGNUO and finding it excellent, I ordered the 50mm lens two days later and again was not disappointed. Great color reproduction, the autofocus is not slow either (but not high speed either, but I find that the speed is pleasant, not inferior to Nikon's 18-55), the bayonet connection is tight. I attached a Walimex UV filter to protect the lens. The filter thread nestled softly against the lens.
Absolutely great!

really like the lens, especially for the price. You can achieve a very nice background blur in portraits and the portrait itself is nice and sharp. The autofocus works well too. It is a bit loud, but pumps very quickly and finds the sharpness well. So the noise doesn't bother me when taking pictures. All in all a very good and nice lens for the price!
Good value for money

For the little money, this is a "little miracle" and an absolute must for every photo junkie. Yes, it's plastic - still valuable. But it is only so 'short' that it is seldom held. Autofocus does exactly what it should. The 1.8 aperture creates a dreamlike bokeh. It even satisfies semi-professional demands. With the naked eye there is no difference to a >300€ Nikkor or a >800€ Tamron.

bought this fixed focal length because I just wanted to test how it works with a fixed focal length, or because I was repeatedly recommended to get a fixed focal length for my kit lens. What can I say? I love her. The image quality is good, the bouquet it creates is pretty acceptable I'd say. The autofocus is also good enough for my purposes. I am completely satisfied and can only warmly recommend it.
for the price of the beginner's hammer

really good lens for the small purse. Of course not to be compared with an original manufacturer lens. For beginners like me, but certainly enough to get back into photography. I don't have to spend hundreds of euros to take good pictures.

I've been using the Yongnuo YN EF 50mm f/1.8 AF lens for over a year and basically never use anything else. For a 50mm f/1.8 lens, the price can't be beat and your photography will be taken to the next level. While it's more fractionally blurred at the edges than the official lens, it really isn't even worth mentioning. And compared to the price points, I'm much more comfortable traveling with a cheaper camera than throwing out a more expensive camera and lens. 10/10, would buy again!

This is perfect for amateur photographers who want to take beautiful portrait photos and don't have a lot of money. It takes beautiful pictures and is easy to use.

ordered the lens because of the price. I wasn't that enthusiastic about it on my Z 6, of course with an adapter, but only manually. Maybe I'm a little lazy too. Now I have the FTZ adapter and I'll tell you, it's a blast, everything is transferred to settings. Always again for the price. By the way, I didn't have any film on it, so I don't know if that was good or bad... Be that as it may, as a photo layman I can't complain.
