Finally, photography is fun again. As a beginner, I was always annoyed when I actually had great pictures and they ended up being nothing. Which of course ultimately also depends on the quality of my photography. As I said: beginners. But finally you can also take pictures in dimly lit rooms and the pictures are still something. It even comes with a sun visor, which I really appreciate. This makes photography fun. Now if it still had a zoom it would be more than perfect. I really enjoy using this lens. Whether portrait of people or animals and landscape. It does what it's supposed to and is of good quality. It was delivered intact and I am very happy with it.

For my Christmas present of the Sony Alpha 6000, which I only bought as a body because I was advised against the kit lenses, I ordered the SEL50F18 and it's awesome! The aperture of 1.8 is a dream and I didn't know these worlds like that... In other words, if you have previously photographed with a relatively old canon 1000d and the tamron 18-200, these are worlds. It is a fixed focal length and was completely new to me too and I was constantly tempted to turn the wheel

First of all, I'm testing the lens with a Sony Alpha 6000, I'm an amateur and don't test according to specific values, but according to personal impressions. I bought the lens as a replacement for the standard kit lens (16-50mm) and combined the purchase with the Amazon/Sony campaign (€30 Amazon voucher for the next purchase on Amazon). Delivery was super fast, ordered Friday morning and had it in my hand or on the camera on Saturday morning. Of course, a few snapshots had to be taken right away, I was very impressed with what you can get out of the camera. That being said, I had already "tried" the lens in the shop and was very impressed there. The lens offers a very good light intensity and conjures up a really beautiful bokeh. When placed on the camera, it may appear bulkier compared to the standard kit lens, but it is also of significantly higher quality. The scope of delivery also includes 2 protective caps and a lens hood, which can be screwed upside down on the lens to save space and is therefore easy to transport. I give the lens 5/5 stars for the reason that not only is it very cheap for the performance you get, but it also produces really nice pictures. Best portrait lens!

I personally (maybe someone else doesn't see it that way) find that it has very good imaging performance and creates a very nice bokeh in the blur area. I still have the 35 1.8 which I don't really like shooting with. It's also an excellent portrait lens, especially at f/1.8 for cropping. But ATTENTION with aperture 1.8, set the focus point manually! Otherwise it happens to you that you have great pictures where only the ears are sharp ;-) Absolute purchase recommendation

Price-performance is flawless. Crack sharp and fast autofocus. Alternative to the Sigma? Absolutely! The built-in stabilizer is still interesting for the filmmakers. The Sigma is sharp yes! But the Sony too ;) I preferred to invest the 100€ that I saved in a clip-on flash. It's better off there ;)

I bought this as my first portrait lens for my Alpha 6000 and 6500 and am very happy with it. The autofocus is fast and precise. The sharpness is great for me as an “amateur photographer” and great pictures are created, especially in weak light.

With the purchase of the lens, there was not much standing in my way - because with the kit lens (16-50mm) of the Sony alpha 5000 .. I was anything but satisfied. I got the alpha so that I can take better quality pictures and was very disappointed at first, but didn't want to give it up, after all you've already invested money, so I decided to get a better lens. The images hardly need to be post-processed, at least if you want natural images and not Fotolia-like .. no or really very little chromatic aberration - still quite good at high ISO, focus works perfectly and quickly - even if I prefer manual. And of course the Bokeh theme should not be missing: the backgrounds look naturally beautiful, deep, colorful and soft. So taking photos is now a lot of fun with the alpha 5000! :)
