Well, you have to get used to the "size" (pancake) first. At first I thought the price is so low, that can't be good. But I was taught better. Even before adjusting and updating with the Lens Station, it takes amazing photos. At the focus point (e.g. eye) it is sharp to very sharp. Bokeh is not that important to me with this lens, because I photograph dogs in front of mountains, so I would like to see something from the mountains as well. However, the lens hood (if you can call it that) is a joke, I'll have to make my own. The left hand also has to find another place, with which I usually supported the lens.

I use the lens on a Sony a7 iv and it even fits my Dji RSC 2 gimbal, which I think is great. I have sold all my other lenses and have not regretted it for a second! As I said, I can only say positive things so far and absolutely recommend it

First of all: I bought this lens in autumn 2017, but not via Amazon, I paid a whopping EUR 349 at the time, and I haven’t regretted it for a second. It got better from firmware v02, mine was pre-installed at the time, I got the Samyang USB Dock (50 EUR approx.) in 2018, and flashed the firmware v03, v04, v05 - with the current v05 it works really well, AF is faster a track, and accurate. As the owner of an A7(R) Mark III, you should definitely have flashed at least the v03 firmware due to the firmware improvements. You can get this beautiful lens used for a mere 140-150 EUR nowadays (as of Nov. 2020), and there is no cheaper full-frame compatible (FE) lens with autofocus for the A7 series. In short, with the old, but by no means bad A7, a top combo - very small & light, enough for 90% of all photographic requirements, since it's universal and my favorite focal length - 35mm, via SLR since the end of the 80s. (Minolta X700, XD7, CONTAX 167mt, RTS II, etc)

Everything in sight, except lenses and membrane blades is plastic, including the mount. There's no five-axis stabilization in the Sony FE Series II, as the lens doesn't report focus distance. As such, you'll need to be prepared for three-axis stabilization when entering focus into the camera's SteadyShot options. As is usual with this type of lens, we won't find a diaphragm ring or manual mechanical focus, which is what else we wish for. That is, its weight of less than 90 grams and its length of just over 3 cm put it in the record category. Entire bag. Minimalist design that doesn't offend anyone. It doesn't sound on my A7R II when focusing and does it right and fast. Support AF with manual focus by increasing focus range x5 when we enable DMF function in camera focus modes. There is no slag, it fits well, everything is going smoothly. In terms of image quality, it rubs or goes into the “A”. Sharpness and detail at virtually every aperture, great color and contrast, I've turned on Distortion, Vignetting and AC options on the camera and the truth is I can't tell you. Great buy for this price. A vintage manual can be four or five times cheaper if you don't need AF, but forget about the same color and performance. Those aspheric lenses aren't there for nothing, nor does the optical design have anything to do with the ones from a few years ago, that the rear lens is larger than the front for some reason... It's one thing when you're fed up with it, to see high-resolution samples, and another to get them directly. It's hard to go wrong with that goal.

This lens is very good for the performance and price it is, don't expect the sharpness or bokeh performance of a Sigma 1.4 or a Gmaster series but it holds up very well. I bought this lens as a daily camera bag paired with a Sony A7s and Samyang 35mm f2.8 lens and overall the weight is very light maybe 400 or 500 grams all together and it fits perfectly in my jacket pocket. Being compact it's good for street photography or travel photography as it doesn't stand out or look like a 'pro camera' unlike my d800 and 24-70 f2.8 lens. I would highly recommend this to someone who is a beginner in photography as it is far, much sharper and better quality than the like standard lens that comes with the Sony cameras and not for too much of an investment. TLDR; Light, compact and sharp for the size. Easy to use, better than a kit lens. worth the money would recommend .

The lens is great. For my type of photography (I mainly photograph people, see also Instagram 'uwe2756') it replaces all other lenses, with a really great imaging performance (open aperture). However, it has its price. And it's big and quite heavy. When I'm shooting and concentrating on the model, it's not that important anymore. So far I've had three lenses in my bag, the Tamron 28-75 f2.8; the Tamron 70-180 f2.8 and the Sony 85 f1.8. Now I only have this lens (on my A7 III with battery grip) with me. I am absolutely delighted and can recommend it unreservedly.

This lens spends a lot of time with my camera. It's a great little full frame 35mm lens that comes at a fraction of the Sony own brand price. Image quality is decent, focus is fast and build quality doesn't seem to be an issue - the lens feels stable. Instructions that come with the lens suggest that the camera needs to be explicitly told that a 35mm lens is attached for image stabilization. That's a little disappointing, but I didn't have to do this (or at least didn't notice stabilization struggling without this setting being changed). If you're interested in your first prime lens I'd recommend this (unless you want to shoot portraits, in which case 50mm or 85mm will do).

It has to be aperture 4. 2.8 doesn't work for me. As a landscape and architecture photographer, I need a lens without distortion and with high sharpness, even in the close-up range. I get this with this lens from aperture 5.6. It even surpasses my Zeiss lenses, which are 3-4x as expensive. Aperture 8 is also still possible. I don't use the AF, but I was surprised during my tests!! SILENT and to the POINT! WE RECOMMEND

K&F Concept are currently causing a sensation with their first AF lenses and then on Sony's E-Mount for full format! This ingenious pancake is just great to use as a "point and shoot" lens. Street, landscape and even portraits are very doable, you can even get close to flowers. ;-) I LOVE IT!
